OpTic see off FlipSid3 in Atlanta

OpTic Gaming live to fight another day at the ELEAGUE Major after beating FlipSid3 Tactics 16-13 in an elimination match.

The final match of the day saw FlipSid3 Tactics and OpTic square off for survival at the Major, with the CIS team taking the lead after winning the pistol round as CT. They were, however, unable to follow it up as OpTic hit back on a hard eco, with Oscar "⁠mixwell⁠" Cañellas getting three kills on the retake.

After getting their economy stabilised, FlipSid3 won four rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to a 5-2 advantage for them. What followed was a highly-contested period as rounds went back and forth, with FlipSid3 eventually putting their foot down and taking a 10-5 halftime lead.


OpTic pick up their first win in Atlanta 

The second half began with FlipSid3 winning the pistol round, which piled even more pressure on OpTic. The European side looked to be in control of the game, but what followed was an amazing run the North Americans, who won nine rounds in a row to turn the game on its head.

Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov still offered some hope to FlipSide's fans with a trio of kills, helping to bring the deficit to a minimum, but OpTic hit back to reach match point before eventually locking down the map.
